Goods to Boost Motivation and Focus (English)

Hello, I’m Mamington, a working mom of three. Ever since COVID-19 came around, we spend a lot more time at home than we used to. Working from home and studying at home can be efficient as we can get chores done in between tasks and save on dry-cleaning costs. However, not meeting people in person and lacking the opportunity to feel stimulation externally can sometime result in a mediocre situation where you cannot turn your motivational switch on. When you just can’t get yourself into work mode, I recommend surrounding your work environment with your favorite items that make you feel excited and renewed. Having a work environment filled with “fun” will naturally make you more positive and drive up your motivation level. Here are some examples of items that I purchased during the pandemic (and I am so glad that I did)! ・Aroma stone and oil set: Being able to enjoy your favorite fragrance without needing a huge aroma pot or an electronic device is practical. The stone is only 5cm wide so takes little space, and the design of the stone is adorable. The oil set allows you to choose from 5 kinds of fragrances which is nice if you do not know what your favorite scent is yet. ・Keyboard with wires: The user experience of a keyboard is vital to a person who spends most of their day in front of a computer. And, being used to the American layout, having the set-up at home made me so much more efficient. ・ipad: Now that I have so many teleconference calls on Zoom, I use ipad in parallel with my desktop and my smart phone. Having a screen that is slightly larger than a smart phone is nicer on my eyes, and having a cool looking electronic device just makes me feel cool, period. ・Different kinds of hand cream: Dry skin is painful especially during the winter, and it unpleasant to be staring at dry hands while I work. I have a small selection of hand cream with my favorite scent to enjoy smooth skin and relaxing fragrances. ・Convenient Furnitures: I use these goodies when I need a change of scenary in my work environment that looks the same everyday. Useful to be able to work on my heated floor on a cold winter day, when I need to organize my surroundings, when I need something to help me see my Zoom screen better. Voila. Those were my 5 recommendations. By the way, I also do have some things that I wish I did not purchase. I invested in a chair in hopes to help with comfortable posture. This chair was so hard to assemble, the color looked different compared with the picture posted on Amazon, the height adjustability is very limited, and it simply was not comfortable. Large furnitures that directly impact our posture and health should be tried out first before purchasing.
