Caring for Japanese Beetles~Pairing
English version of this post is available below.
Hello, I’m Mamington, a working mom of three.
Our beetle couple, ♂ Mochi and ♀ Dango. Beetles that were brought to our home in the summer of 2020 laid eggs in the fall, and we watched little caterpillars grow up for more than half a year until these beetles emerged recently. For the first week after emerging, the beetles spent most of their time under the soil but we are now able to see them spend more time outside, eating protein jelly and strolling around. A few days ago, Mochi was chasing after Dango, mother nature in action.
The cage is sitting in our living room near greens in order to create an environment that is as close to nature as possible. The children love watching and learning about the insect life. Have a happy summer to our little beetles♡
